Botox (Botulinum Toxin A)
Botulinum Toxin A injections may help patients with muscle tension, trigger points, or headaches linked to muscle spasms. Botox® works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, helping the treated muscles relax and reducing associated discomfort.
Results typically last between 3 and 6 months, during which time muscle tension and spasms may improve. Repeat treatments may be required to maintain the effects.
Procedure
Your doctor will first assess and identify the treatment areas and any relevant trigger points. The skin will then be cleansed using an antiseptic solution. Botox® is administered using a fine needle, and a local anaesthetic may be used where appropriate to maximise comfort during treatment.
Procedure Outcomes
One of the main advantages of Botox® treatment is the minimal recovery time involved. Most patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. Results typically last around 3–6 months, after which repeat treatments may be recommended.
