Neck is considered as the second face of a woman because it is the region that easily shows signs of aging followed by the face. Believe it or not, a neck wrinkle can make your look age by a decade. What is neck wrinkle
Neck wrinkles are the wrinkles shown on the neck, they are caused by the aging of epidermal cells and the loss of connective tissues on the neck.
Neck wrinkles can be congenital or acquired. Congenital neck wrinkles are horizontal lines on the neck and located on the shoulder level. Nearly all of us have the congenital wrinkles when we were born, the condition varies. These wrinkles will also change with time and the daily activities we engage in.
Causes
Some key factors that contribute to the development of acquired neck wrinkles are:
①Like the skin around our eyes, the skin on the neck tends to be thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face. It is also more prone to be drier as it has less production of sebum than the face, which will lead to wrinkles formatio.
②Some daily activities and postures will accelerate the formation of wrinkles. For example, prolonged use of computers at work, sleeping with a high pillow, and prolonged use of mobile devices with the head bent downward will fold the skin on the neck, stimulate the wrinkles formation, and deepen the existing lines.
③No sun protection. UV radiation from the sunlight can cause photoaging to our skin by breaking down collagen fibres at a higher rate than the natural aging process, resulting in formation of neck wrinkles.
④After the age of 25, the production of collagen starts to decline. The collagen and elastic fibres on our neck become thinner and looser, which means the skin is less elastic and will eventually cause sagging and wrinkles.
⑤Lack of or improper skincare routine of the neck can cause the delicate skin to form wrinkles.
Symptoms

0: smooth skin
1 – None: No visible wrinkles. Continuous skin lines.
2 – Mild: Shallow visible wrinkles; slight indentation; fine lines on face.
3 – Moderate: Moderately deep wrinkles; clearly visible wrinkles; wrinkles disappear if stretched.
4 – Severe: Deep and furrow wrinkles, well defined edge.
5 – Extreme: Very deep and furrow wrinkles, redundant skin folds.
