Dr Xu graduated from Southampton Medical School in 2008 and have subsequently worked in general and emergency medicine, surgery and intensive care. She has been specialising in facial aesthetic since in 2012. Since then she has performed hundreds of non-surgical cosmetic procedures. She was a lead trainer and mentor at Harley Academy from May 2017 to May 2018, and taught medical aesthetics to healthcare professionals.

She graduated from University of Liverpool in 2009, and has completed her dermatology training at the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester. She has also been awarded Diploma in Dermatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine awarded by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
